Berpolitik lewat ekonomi : Politics by economics
Well, this is rather unusual, because i really dont have many time now (i have'nt pray maghrib yet, but its almost isya :p ), and i really want to share this important shares, so here i just write it using indonesian. Just pray that i'll soon translate it to english. So here is may newest post after weeks of no posting. Hope you'll enjoy! :
Amin Insya Allah wa Wa Allahu A'lam Bis Shawab.

Becoming A star + The Pious Intelelctual
Well, this afternoon i finally my finish my 2 day (pre) LMD training (Latihan Mujahid Dakwah, organized by Masjid Salman). Well, the training's goal itself is pretty wonderful and i appreciate it, and the knowledge presented there is quite important and really useful for us da'is and activist. But of course, there's nothing perfect except the owner of all perfection Himself, and the LMD training itself in my opinion is still lack of preparation and the committee's attention. But however, i gave a thumb up for the event! Great job brothers! ^_^
And now, after what i experienced from many of my previous seminars and trainings, many new knowledge i got will surely disappeared after a while. So, to make sure it won't happen again, i'll try to write down the knowledges i get from every seminars and trainings i participate start from now, and share it here. So then, down here insha Allah i'll write quick reviews of two of the seminar i think its better to share that the other seminars. First is the seminar entitled "Discovering yourself: Become A Star!" by Mr. Adriano Rusfi a.k.a Mr. Aad, while the second is the seminar about "Ulul Albab" by Ms. Tina Agustin. So, here it is:
Discovering yourself: Become A Star!
At the seminar, Mr. Aad share his knowledge ad experiences regarding how to "Become A Star". The seminar itself is divided into few topic, with the first topic is why do we have to become a superstar. Back there, Mr. Aad gave us around 6 reasons, but there is a reason i think is the most important to be noticed, and that is because we have to be thankful for all of Allah's blessing and generosity. Technically, every single person on earth is gifted with a special skill or ability that distinguish them from other person, thus made us special. So, in order to be thankful of him, we must use our potential and ability to the maximum and try to give the best for this 'diin' and 'ummah'. So there is no reason for us to hide our potential and ability in front of other person, because it can brought us to selfishness and 'ujub, and can also means that we deny Allah's wonderful gift.
But now, why there are failed persons out there? There are some reasons that can made us failed when we tried to reach our dream. The first and the most important is because we have the wrong paradigm or 'point-of-view' (including: Having bad image toward himself, expecting factor of success were outside of himself, etc). The other are because we were the "artist of argument", because of the shallow motivation, and because we were fast to be satisfied.
Well, from what i've learnt recently, "Ulul Albab" means a group of persons whom try their best to study, apply, and teach Allah's knowledge to the others, in order to help the spread and development of Islam. These person can become a scholar, scientist, teacher, lecturer, politician, entrepreneur, or anything else. The key factor that made them all the same is their goals and intention, which is solely in purpose to seek Allah's Ridha and acceptance. Some aspects that made them special is they were given with 'hikmah' (insight), wisdom, and knowledge other then the knowledge they acquire from regular empirical methods. In general, they can also described as peoples whom read, observe, and study natural phenomenon and with those activities, their faith will grow.
These peoples are very special in every human civilization. There were some 'properties' of "Ulul Albab", some of them are:
So the last, i wish this little writing can become useful for all of us. Thanks for the read, and see you next time! :)
PS.: Recently, one of my friend from my high school, Asri Yasmin, is suffer from brain cancer. Yesterday night, the doctor has lift her cancer and now she is at the state of recovery. I got a news that she had one of her nerve system dimage, so it'll take time to recover. So here, i ask pray from you all that Allah will cure her from the illness, so she may be recovered quickly and back to college as soon as possible. Ameenn.

If you believe that you are able, or you believe that you aren't able, then you are right! ~ Henry Ford ~Yeah, just as Mr. Ford says, and also as what unsurprisingly written on the Holy koran, that Allah always following His believer's expectation. Now, to become a star, you need to know yourself. You can accomplish this by following the following advice:
- Remember your Dreams, Goals, Hobbies, Interest, etc.
- Act,Act, Act!
- Always try and try again.
- Learn from nature
- Asking the others -> always seek for feedback's from people around us, because we weren't always be the one know our self best.
- Get to know Allah (As koran says: "People who know Allah, He will make him know himself")
- Ridha (accept willingfully Allah's decision)
- Nobody's perfect
- Strength is our weakness, and weakness is our strength
- Know that there's always skies above skies.
- Learn to ridha (accept willingfully Allah's decision)
- Find the right place, time, person, and method.
- Develop a "constructive revenge"
Well, from what i've learnt recently, "Ulul Albab" means a group of persons whom try their best to study, apply, and teach Allah's knowledge to the others, in order to help the spread and development of Islam. These peoples are very special in every human civilization. There were some 'properties' of "Ulul Albab", some of them are:
- They can read histories (means they can take 'ibrah' or lesson from them)
- Have ability to read reality, brave to take a decision and act although they have to face the majority
- 'Istiqomah' or consistent at choosing 'thayyib' or the good, whatever risk they face
- Always follow the best opinion after through the process of 'istima' (hear the other persons opinion)
- Always take lesson from other person or country (so they won't make the same mistakes)
- Put all his effort on seeking knowledges
- Always able to distinguish the right and wrong, choose the right, and be consistent of it.
- Always be critical when he listen to other persons
- Willing to share his knowledge to others to fix his society
- Have no fear except for Allah
So the last, i wish this little writing can become useful for all of us. Thanks for the read, and see you next time! :)

"Free music please?" or "Free the music please!" ?
Man, it really breezy tonight! Yeah, for a lonely nothing-to-do college student in the saturday night, a free broadband high-speed internet connection is somewhat a dream come true. But of course there's something you need to pay with. And in my case now, struggling with a cold air is the least i can expect. :D
Okay, now come to the main topic. What the difference between the 2 word i wrote on the title? Well, in case it's too hard for you to guess, the first word is something you should say with a posture like when a little child begging his parent for ice cream. Well, its the most common situation now in Indonesia.
Someway, the Indonesians nowadays are very lazy. The huge amount of hedonistic lifestyle propaganda in the medias really brainwash the minds of youth Indonesians. Always looking for the easiest way to do something, get used with instant paradigms, and always choose the shortcut whether it's right or not.
Obviously, this is the main purpose that turn the warm and nice yet rightful and discipline Indonesians into a bunch of pirates, as i said on my previous post. And definitely, this immoral act is really disturbing me and made me really sick. That's why i've been starting to use Linux (which is legal, powerful, and awesome yet Open Source) since around 3 years ago, because using pirated and illegitimate software is really disturbing my faith (as it really forbidden in islam).
Now, what is the second mean? Well, i can say it mean a demand of the freedom of music. Why do we need music freedom? Or aside that, do music really has freedom or something such as that? Yeah, its sound strange for most regular person, but maybe unconsciously we already familiar with that kind of musician or artist.
If you're an Indonesian, i pretty sure you're familiar with musician sind3ntosca with their popular funny song: "Persahabatan bagai kepompong". This musician, which is originally consist of only one person, Jalu, is pretty surprising. Their unusual yet unique style of music, is unpredictably pretty popular among Indonesian. But the interisting fact is, before Jalu was assigned by the the major label which accommodate him at the label version of sind3ntosca album, Jalu has preciously published his creation on jamendo.com independently and pretty hit the audience there. From scratch and all by himself, he create, mix, and publish his own songs which take part of his creative genre he called "sundaceltic". Of course, there's a lot of hurdle he must pass thru before he reach the stair of popularity. But unluckily, it seem like his popularity is only for a short period of time, because his popularity now has been likely drowned.
Well, Jalu with his sind3ntosca is an example of a musician who hold on his idealism of music 'till the end, although there aren't many people support him. But anyway, i sure respect all he'd done until now and his struggle to promote his idea of music which is pretty much a part of Indonesia original culture.
Sure, there are still a lot of other inspiring musician out there that i can write down here, but i think Jalu's story is enough for now. I just wish this pitiful writing can give an insight or inspiration for you to participate on the Free Music Movement, as a reviewer, promoter, musician, or just an ordinary listener! Anyone can help. So we the Indonesians can walk proudly among other nations and say, "Hey! We are not a mere thief anymore! We are now also the creator!" And because the music is free, of course it mean anyone from any culture, races, and social status can enjoy them without the need to pirate them. What a great dream isn't it? Well, lets just wish soon enough, a great, potential, free musician can emerge from this pitiful country and bring a song that can make us all proud. Lets, just wish it'll happen really soon! Thanks for the read! :)
PS: Lately, i've been experimenting with LMMS, hydrogen, and audacity to create some synthpop-techno music. Well, my dream is to create some song's comparable with Owl City or Light. :) My goal for now is to make a cover version of Gradasi's "Gantole", which is an accapella nasyeed and make the synthpop cover of it. Well, just wait for further news from me. :D Wish me luck, and adios!

Do We Still Need God?
Last night, i watch an episode of an interesting comedy crime TV series titled Shark (you should try to watch it too. there aren't many TV series about a wacky public prosecutor nowadays :) ). The story itself is pretty interesting. The episode tell us about a good cop who try to slander a (mafia) public figure, because he killed one of his partner. Of course, in the end Stark (the main character, cast by James Woods), have to brought him to punishment, but successfully saved the face of local police department by making the cop known to public as a hero that willing to risk his life and career to mantain order and justice.
Okay, enough with the boring tv review. :D Beside the story itself, there are one scene that attract my interest after i remember yesterday morning. When the good cop sit at the court as witness of the murder case (which killed his partner), the court leader (i forgot what its called :p ) ask him procedurally to swear in the name of god. When i think about it later, this procedure is rather contradictive with america's social situation which many american now weren't believe to any god (a.k.a atheist).
America nowadays is a huge and strong country, with a incredible politic, economy, and military power. Most of its citizen were well educated and highly civilized. No wonder atheist, capitalist, and many other western ideology is flourish there. But the scene i mentioned above, which describe america's actual condition, brought me to a conclusion that the belief of existence of god is a basic need of every human being and their civilization, how hard they try to denied it. If the cop weren't believe to any god, then he won't have any bond and hesitation to the law, and definitely will follow their basic primitive instinct naturally.
Unlike the popular quotes made by Friedrich Nietzsche, "God Is Dead", i'll say that God is exist and we'll always from the deepest of our heart acknowledge Him and need Him. I think its a psychological fact that human being always need the existence of god. An existence that will hear and answer all of their pray and wish. An existence that will hear their scream of desperate and fear. An existence that always watch all of their action and every other thing in this universe, and keep them in order according their own roles.
My belief in islam is rather logical, rational, patriotical, and spiritual, not emotional. My interaction with many ideology previously has made me think carefully, thus brought me to a new understanding of islam which i think is more objective. So that's why, in my opinion until now we do still need god, although how irrational it sound. The reason why we do need to believe in Him although the idea sound irrational is because god is supposed to be an existence beyond existence. He is the creator of space, material, and time. he even the creator of the existence itself, so how do we think about something so great that even surpass our own capability of logical thinking, which we were still lack of it? Beside, if you studied about evolution carefully, i'm sure you'll find more evidence of the impossibility of evolution than the possibility one. Yeah, i know, this matter is still a popular topic in many debate forum, but i'm sure its only a matter of time before the real truth revealed. However, that's enough for now. I hope this article entertain you, and bring new inspiration for all of us. So, thanks for reading! :)

The shocking realization
At first, it started when i was doing a little music surfing at myspace and last.fm this noon. Formerly, i found out an interesting local indie band named L'Alphalpha (you can try to hear it too). Because i found the sample music is pretty promising, i directly search google to find a free (a.k.a illegal) download page for it. Luckily, soon i found the page which actually a blog post containing the links.
At that time, i was pretty curious about the writing beside the link (which i regretted later). So i started to do a quick skim at it and stopped at phrase "this files is for evaluation purpose only. please delete it after 2x24 hour". Of course, automatically i thinked like "hell yeah, like i will do it for sure. its your own fault to give the links in the first place". But then, the sentence started to disturb me as i began to realize this: the music at first was intended for evaluation purpose only, so we shouldn't violate the real purpose of it as it can be categorized as piracy if we violate it. And if we do a piracy, it can be considered a sin or bad deed. And if we do something, or gain profit from an activity - which i do recently as i develop my new project JadwalKita.com - the profit can be considered as illegitimate or "haram" profit, which of course i didn't want it to happen.
The realization is really hit me very hard, it felt like i was smacked with a huge hammer of iron. Until now, i've always hold on my faith as a good believer. But eat from a "haram" money or profit is surely trespass the other's right and my religion's laws (as i surely believe that it will turn its back on me if i do so).
The problem now is, recently i've ( illegally :( ) discovered many new music on the internet which i liked so much (including many Owl City's song, also many Light's and Yui's), which felt very hard to abandon. And i also dont want to abandon the project i currently working on. Of course, digital piracy has been a widely known public secret among indonesians. Here, its harder to get a legal music compared to the illegal one (its easy to get, high quality, lots of choice, and free! what else could you expect? :D ). But altough its been compromised here, a sin is still a sin, no matter how many persons deniying it.
So in the end, for the sake of my current project's progress and my interes on music, recently i've been doing another music surfing on jamendo.com (which provide a wide variaety of royalty free music. There are many choice of music to hear there, and the community is great too). But altough some of them is pretty good, definitely there aren't many popular artist submitting their songs there. For now, i've been hearing Rocket Warrior's "Alpha" . Altough their song is not pretty bad, but it still couldn't reach my ideal. But its look like i'll stick with it for now. However, if you know other "royalty free" artist or music out there that you think worth try, please let me know it! I'll be very thankful for it. ^_^ Anyway, thanks for the visit! :)
PS: recently, i've also been triying to upload one of my own friend's music "Make Your Dream" by As Effect (which i wish can help them to become more popular). But until now, jamendo only provide upload service using .wav filetype, which is ridicolously huge compared by the .mp3 one. My friend's mp3 music file is only 7,2 Mb in size, while the wav version is 157,9 Mb! I hope jamendo can solve this problem as soon as possible.

Why do i love dreamy music?
Dreamy music? What the heck is that? Ha ha ha, actually the terms “dreamy” is just a word i came up by
myself, because its not actually fall into a certain genre. I called it “dreamy music” because its music will like throwing us out into some kind of diffrent dimension, full of magical thing and its
like we were inside some kind of dream. Yeah, actually its not 100%
like that, but when you really hear some of the best “dreamy
music”, it's lyric is actually beautiful and the tone is really
lifting our concousness. Ha ha ha, its just another “lebay”
description, but i said it that ways just to help me describe what i
felt when i really heard those songs deeply.
In my case, the artist that fall into
this catagory is Owl City and Light, plus some aditional J-Pop song
by Yui. But actually, i think Owl City and Light is the one that
really represent the term “dreamy music”. Their electro tone is
successfully represent their feeling and inspiration toward the song,
and their beutiful lyrics really reflect their high imagination. Such
a great song.

Now why do i loved them more, compared by other popular pop music. First of all, i dont really love any kind of love music. Some of the reason why i dislike them is because i already sick of seeing other people, especially teenager, whom became such a weak willed and lazy persons because they were affected by those love song. Of course there are few exceptions such as Owl City's “The Saltwater Room” which actually very beautiful and romantic, but not actually represent the “bad love song”.
The second reason why i loved dreamy
music, is of course because i have plenty of such a high dreams,
goals, and wishes. Since i were a kid, i already had imagined what i
will become in the future, what will i do, and many other stuff. And
in the process to reach them, problems i encounter in my life often
depressed my mind, and those music really help me to cheer me up and
re-motivate myself.
In the end, i really recommended these kind of music. Because the idea and spirits behind these kind of
music is really positive and great, opposites to “love music”
category which actually made just for fun and drift us away from our
real purpose of hearing music. But of course, its just my opinion. I
didn't say every love music is bad love music, and i also didn't intended to
force anyone to love the music i loved. Everyone in this world is
diffrent, and likewise their music taste. However, to anyone who
hadn't hear any of these music, i really suggest you to try some of
this music. Owl City's Fireflies and To The Sky is a pretty good
start, while i cannot recommended much from Light's song, because i
just started to listen her music since yesterday. :D Anyways, thanks
for reading! ^_^
